US News:1 killed, 3 hurt in Phoenix night club shooting

PHOENIX
–  Police say a man is dead and three people are wounded after a gunman opened fire in a Phoenix night club.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson says the shooting occurred shortly before midnight Sunday at the club in northwest Phoenix.

He says a 28-year-old man walked into the club at 2900 Grand Avenue and opened fire, hitting four people before running out of ammunition.

The police spokesman tells The Associated Press that people inside the club then wrestled the man to the ground and held him until police arrived.

A 34-year-old man died from gunshot wounds after being rushed to a hospital.

Thompson says a 20-year-old woman and two men, ages 20 and 22, were all hospitalized with gunshot wounds. He didn't have details on their conditions.

He says more information will be released later in the morning.
