Washington, Dec 25 (IANS) US Vice President Joe Biden has said America's attitude about gay marriages was evolving and such relationships were gaining acceptance in the country.
'I think there's an inevitability for a national consensus on gay marriage,' Biden told ABC's 'Good Morning America' programme Friday.
The vice president said the recent repeal of the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy - which will allow gays to serve openly in the military - was more readily accepted by the military because US President Barack Obama had spoken to military chiefs about it.
'I think the same thing is happening across the country with regard to marriage,' Biden said.
However, Tom McClusky, vice president for government affairs at the Family Research Council, which opposes gay marriage, said: 'I'm happy to hear Joe Biden say this because normally when Joe Biden makes a prediction, it doesn't come true.'
